Job Description

What’s in it for you?

  • A platform, not just a role: This is a senior opportunity for a construction lawyer who wants autonomy, visibility and the ability to shape their own practice.
  • Serious project work: Exposure to complex construction and infrastructure matters involving sophisticated developers and contractor clients.
  • End-to-end carriage: Direct responsibility for matters, close client relationships and meaningful input into strategy.
  • Room to grow: A clear pathway toward senior leadership as the practice continues to expand.
  • Commercial upside: Senior salary aligned with capability, plus performance incentives linked to contribution and growth.

About your new employer:

This is a respected Sydney firm with established Property and Construction practices and strong relationships across the development and infrastructure sectors.

The firm acts for developers, contractors and commercial clients on significant projects and disputes, with a steady flow of construction work across both advisory and contentious matters.

Senior lawyers are trusted to run their matters with autonomy and are supported by a collaborative team environment without excessive hierarchy.

About the role:

This is a senior disputes-focused construction role suited to a lawyer seeking greater ownership, strategic involvement and exposure to complex matters.

Your work will include:

  • Advising on high-value construction disputes across major projects
  • Security of payment claims and adjudication strategy
  • Complex contract disputes, variations, delay and disruption claims
  • Litigation and tribunal proceedings in superior courts and specialist forums

Front-end experience is beneficial, particularly where it supports dispute prevention and risk allocation strategy, but the core of the role sits within contentious construction work.

The ideal candidate:

  • 6+ years’ PQE with strong construction law experience, coming from a reputable construction, projects or infrastructure team.
  • Experience across front-end, back-end, or a balanced mix of both
  • Strong drafting, negotiation and dispute strategy skills.
  • Commercially minded with confidence managing client relationships.

If this role does not align to your experience and/or career goals, please contact us to discuss other suitable opportunities.
