Job Description

What’s in it for you?

  • Real file ownership: This is not a role where you sit behind layers of review. You will have carriage of matters, direct exposure to clients and the chance to build confidence in your own decision-making.
  • Breadth of work: The practice covers a genuine mix of residential and commercial property matters, so the role will suit someone who enjoys variety and wants to keep building across the full spectrum of property work.
  • Senior access: You will work closely with Principals who are hands-on and available, which makes a real difference if you are at the stage where you want support without being overmanaged.
  • A team you can settle into: The culture is professional and down to earth. It will suit someone who wants to do solid work in a team that is approachable, steady and easy to work with.

About your new employer:

This firm has been in the market for a long time and has built a stable property practice off the back of repeat work and long-standing client relationships.

What stands out is that they are not trying to be everything to everyone. Their approach is practical, measured and client-focused and that flows through to the way the team operates. They back their lawyers to build trusted client relationships and to take genuine ownership of their matters.

For someone who wants to keep developing in property law without moving into an overly corporate or heavily layered environment, this is a strong option.

About the role:

You will join a growing Property team and work across a mix of residential and commercial matters, with the expectation that you will run files and deal directly with clients.

The work will include:

  • managing property matters from start to finish across residential and commercial transactions.
  • drafting and reviewing contracts, leases, correspondence and supporting documentation.
  • advising clients on practical legal and commercial issues as matters progress.
  • working closely with Principals and other team members to move matters forward efficiently.
  • contributing to client relationships and, over time, broader business development activity.

This role would suit a lawyer who already has a solid grounding in property and wants a position where they can be trusted with more responsibility, more client exposure and a broader seat at the table.

The ideal candidate:

  • 3+ years’ PQE with solid exposure to conveyancing and leasing matters.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to technical excellence and service.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence dealing directly with clients and stakeholders.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and run matters with minimal supervision.

If this role does not align to your experience and/or career goals, please contact us to discuss other suitable opportunities.
